FAQs
When is the best time to book a Golden Triangle tour in India?
The best time to visit is between October and March, when the weather is cooler and more comfortable for sightseeing. However, December and January can bring heavy smog in Delhi and Agra, which may affect visibility at monuments like the Taj Mahal. For clearer skies and a more pleasant experience, late February and March are often the most reliable months.
Is the Taj Mahal open every day?
Can I realistically visit Agra in one day from Delhi?
Yes, but only if the day is structured properly. A well-planned same-day tour typically starts early—around 5:00 AM by car or with an early train departure—to reach Agra in time for a morning visit to the Taj Mahal. This timing helps you avoid peak crowds and experience the monument in better light conditions.
That said, a one-day trip is efficient, not relaxed. If you want a deeper experience, an overnight stay in Agra is the better option.
What is the most reliable way to travel between Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur?
There are two practical options, depending on your priorities:
Private Car (Recommended for most travelers)
This is the most flexible and seamless option. You get door-to-door service, controlled pacing, and the ability to stop at places like Fatehpur Sikri along the way.
Train (Best for speed and efficiency)
High-speed trains such as the Gatimaan Express or Shatabdi are reliable and faster than road travel in certain cases, especially between Delhi and Agra.
For full Golden Triangle tours, private vehicles are typically the better choice because they allow a continuous, connected itinerary across cities.
How should I dress for sightseeing at monuments and temples?
There is no strict dress code, but modest clothing is expected. You should wear outfits that cover your shoulders and knees, especially when visiting mosques or temples.
Lightweight, breathable fabrics are ideal due to the climate. Many travelers find that wearing local-style clothing, such as a kurta, is both comfortable and culturally appropriate.
What should I pack for a day tour?
Even for a short trip, you need to be prepared for long hours outdoors. Essentials include:
- Comfortable walking shoes (you will walk more than expected)
- Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)
- Bottled water to stay hydrated
Most of our tours already include bottled water and planned rest stops, so you only need to carry personal essentials.
Is it safe for solo female travelers?
Yes, but only if you travel smart. Many solo women visit Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur without issues. The key is to avoid unstructured travel.
Using a private tour with verified drivers, licensed guides, and pre-arranged hotels significantly reduces risk. Avoid engaging with persistent touts and maintain situational awareness in crowded areas.
How many days do I actually need for the Golden Triangle?
This is where most people get it wrong.
3 days: Possible, but rushed and exhausting
5–7 days: Ideal balance of comfort, depth, and pacing
8+ days: Best if you want to add destinations like Varanasi or Ranthambore
Most well-designed itineraries—including ours—are built around 5 to 7 days to avoid turning the trip into a checklist experience.
